Run for God

Overview

Run for God is an organization whose primary goal is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ and to educate about the parallels of faith and endurance.  Run for God started in Dalton, GA and now has participants across the country.

Mission

To prepare people to be better witnesses for Christ...physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Physically - Create a healthier you and make it possible to reach a new demographic of non-believers and potential believers.

Mentally - Learn the discipline and endurance that it takes to "run the race set before us."

Spiritually - Learn always to give God the glory for all that we accomplish.

Run for God Program

The Run for God program is part Bible study and part training program.  The primary goal of this program is to learn to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ while understanding the parallels of running and faith.

Participants can potentially run their first 5K race in just 12 weeks.  And, they will learn how the sport of running relates to their faith.

Good Shepherd's Team

Participants are currently maintaining their fitness three times a week until the new training season begins.  The team meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at O.L. Smith Middle School Track at 6:30 AM.  (Located at 23851 Yale Street just east of Telegraph.)  Saturdays training is at 7:00 AM in various locations.  Check with the church office for the planned location.

Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join us for exercise and fellowship.  It doesn't matter if you are a couch potato or an athlete.  ALL ARE WELCOME!
